Text-based course for people behind the bar

Learn to pour, build and serve drinks that people come back for.

4.8 average lesson rating from our first 214 students

[ Advantages — 01 ]

Why students stay with us

Everything here exists to get you comfortable on a real bar: structure, repetition and feedback on what you actually poured.

01

Certificate on completion

Finish every module and the final assessment to receive a verifiable certificate you can attach to a job application.

02

Living recipe library

412 written recipes with build order, dilution notes and garnish specs — searchable by base, method and glassware.

03

Practice you can do at home

Each lesson ends with a bar task: measure, build, taste, log. Submit your notes and get written feedback.

04

Study on your own clock

Lessons are text, not video. Read a module on a break, finish it on the bus, keep your place across devices.

Built by working bartenders for people who want a real craft, not a stack of trivia.

The syllabus

Six modules, 68 written lessons, 24 graded bar tasks. Work through them in order or jump to the shelf you struggle with.

[ Toolkit — 03 ]

The kit you master

Boston shaker

Boston shaker

Two-piece tin set. You learn the seal, the break and a shake that chills without shredding the drink.

Japanese jigger

Japanese jigger

Tall, stepped and honest. Measuring drills start here before any free-pour work is unlocked.

Hawthorne strainer

Hawthorne strainer

Spring tension, gate control and the double-strain routine for a clean, silty-free surface.

Mixing glass & spoon

Mixing glass & spoon

Stirred drinks live or die by contact time. You practise revolutions, chill and target dilution.

Muddler & press

Muddler & press

Pressure without pulp. Herb handling, citrus expression and getting oils instead of bitterness.

[ Formats — 04 ]

Two halves of one habit

Notebook, jigger and citrus on a desk

  • Diagrams for build order, dilution and glassware
  • End-of-module quizzes with instant scoring
  • Searchable glossary of 300+ bar terms

From sign-up to certificate

A single track with five checkpoints. Most students reach the assessment in nine to twelve weeks studying a few evenings a week.

  1. 01

    Register

Pick a package, create your account and answer six questions about your experience so we can suggest a starting module.

  2. 02

    First lesson

Module one opens immediately. Read the station-setup lesson and complete the mise en place checklist at home.

  3. 03

    Practice & feedback

Submit bar tasks as you go. A tutor returns written notes on measurement, method and balance.

  4. 04

    Assessment

Build a five-drink flight to spec, log your notes and pass the written exam on technique and service.

  5. 05

    Certificate

Your certificate is issued with a verification code, plus a summary of the modules and tasks you completed.

What sits in the library

Every category below is written out in full: specs, method notes and the reasoning. It grows each month as tutors publish new entries.

Classic mocktails

Citrus Sour, Ginger Highball, Berry Fizz, Herbal Spritz, Spiced Cooler and the templates that connect them.

Mixology & original specs

Acid adjustment, fat-washing, clarification basics, syrups and cordials, and writing a spec that survives a busy shift.

Working with bases

Teas, shrubs, juices, botanicals and sparkling waters — style differences and substitution logic.

Aromatics & modifiers

Cordials, tonics, shrubs and aromatic drops: storage, dosing and how they change a drink's spine.

Highballs & long drinks

Carbonation, ice column, ratio control and building service-speed drinks that stay lively to the last sip.

Fresh & complex builds

Layered drinks with real structure — acids, tannin, bitterness and body from plants, fruit and spice.

[ FAQ — 08 ]

Questions we get

No. Module one assumes you have never worked a station. If you already bartend, the placement questions at sign-up point you to a later module.

One decision away

The difference between a home pour and a bar pour is a measured habit. Build it in writing, one module at a time.
